A few things changed with the "new edition" of BMG, one of the most dramatic and interesting changes to the game was to the RIDDLE. Initially just a quick, Throwaway objective, Riddles now add a very interesting element and interaction to the game, Creating interesting choices, and fun gameplay with the new rules
Overview of changes
Riddles have almost been completely overhauled. When you choose "riddle" as an objective, you deploy 2 markers instead of one, but at the same time. This puts more objectives on the board for you to interact with.

When you interact with a riddle now, you manipulate for 1MC and then roll on a chart
The chart
0-1- lose a VP
2-3- The riddle is removed
4-5- gain a VP
6- Gain 3 VP
Here is the kicker, if you didnt deploy the riddle- you get a minus 1 to your roll- meaning you have a similar chance of gaining or losing a VP. This means a player is making a very risky maneuver to attempt an opponent's riddle
Detectives, Masterminds, Psychologists, and Puzzle masters
Riddles now have an number of models that have a special interaction with riddles
Detectives get to reroll
Masterminds roll 2 and pick- this is different from dectectives in a few, subtle ways. Rolling both at the same time allows for more possible success- as a detective would not really want to reroll a 4-5, or even a 2-3 (and risk a 1)
The psychologists dont even need to roll on the chart, they just immediately score 1VP, they dont even have a chance of scoring 3
And the riddler, of course, automatically scores 3VP, he doesnt even need to roll
