Missed out on our best yet? Don't worry, on this Wishlist Wednesday I've got a list of our top five most popular articles for January 2015. Plus copious of links to related material if you need to fall down a blog roll for an hour or two. Which of the following is content that you're looking for? Let us know in the comments below.
5. Feature Friday - Classic Harley - Penemue's opens up our list with his Classic Harley breakdown. This is the sort of article that tells you everything you need to know about the character. He does mention the awesome Assault on Arkham, which gives Harley Quinn a starring role as the Suicide Squad attempts to break into Arkham to silence the Riddler while avoiding Batman. What I really like about Harley is she fits on offence or defence due to her trait as an Acrobat. Penemue's Classic Harley is about her synergy with Gotham City Sirens of Poison Ivy and Catwoman. I think the trio is quite deadly and got a huge release last month with Swamp Thing.
4. Tons of New Batman Miniature Game Spoilers! - This is my first entry for top spot in January, which is mostly spoilers revealed from Weyland Games and Beasts of War. While not as popular, it is important to note the New Swamp Thing (who also introduces Red Hood) that I tease in this article, as well as the listings of new gangs gear. I'm for one aren't that excited about gang gear, because unless you're the Penguin, you're spending most of your cash on guns instead of the more interesting gear. That's the problem with gear, really; it's awesome but it competes with such practical options like Assault Rifles and Shotguns. Personally, I find the Red Hood Joker you get as a pre-Order can't compare with the Jason Todd Red Hood who I thought was amazing depicted in the animated Under the Red Hood.
3. New Green Arrow - Endalyon takes third with a spoiler and analysis of the TV-version of Arrow. The TV show inspired me to write two different slots that we can tie more into Gotham's gangsters for a more fully fleshed out world. This is just a basic breakdown - comparing TV Arrow who is a Leader to the Sidekick Arrow. I'm sure once the BMG book ships, we'll get some more clarification. Misty, the game's creator, made a comment on how Organized Crime is changing. Perhaps we'll be able to play Cops, Batman and Green Arrow as all separate choices for the good guys.
2. Feature Friday - the N3 Crane - There have been disappointing models in N2, there has been completely misleading qualifications and there has been hope for improvement in N3. Players waited with baited breath over seeing how each model received love with the edition change. While a lot of improvements have been made, there were the notorious Imperial Agents that were widely considered too overcosted for what they brought - which was everything and nobody could pay for that. N3 corrected the Crane and Penemue goes into detail of why you'll now run this Imperial badass. I think the biggest change is Hacking and how it relates to Martial Artist's Stealth. You can expect more from your Cranes, instead of having wildly-swingy matches.
1. HMGs in N3 - Dispelling the Myth of Uselessness - I'm pretty sure Penemue is sitting pretty with this one. House of Paincakes nominated this article for their monthly TopX (which is where I stumbled across Chronowraith's charts) and justly so. There has been a lot of raging on the Infinity Forums, while we believe is mostly knee jerk reactions and misunderstandings. HMGs were always the right choice for a weapon in N2 and that was a problem. With the HMG's reduction of optimal ranges, not only does the HMG allow other weapons to shine in closer quarters, it also makes the HMG feel like it has a purpose of long distant firefights. These changes are very refreshing. So, the HMG is different but it still serves the function of blow away schmucks at fifty paces.
