Born in the 19th century to a Russian mother, and Ras al ghul, Nyssa was raised by her mother until she sought out her father, and trained to the league. So impressed by his daughter, Ras gave her a Lazarus pit so that she might endure to succeed him. Now, Nyssa leads among the league, serving the mysterious purposes of the league of shadows!
Nyssa highlights a very different element to the league, a much more mobile, harassment based build. While ras and bane place a heavy hitting unit, and force their opponents to deal with it, nyssa is a lot more precise and subtle. Like her sister Talia, nyssa is an acrobat, and an elite boss ninja- but that is where most of the similarities end. Nyssa is a character of many firsts for the league
The first league "boss" that is armed with a ranged weapon, Nyssa can use her bow to fantastic effect. This makes a dramatic change to how the league operates, now able to act at a range. Master Marksman ensures that targets will be hit, and while mechanic is "ok" chances, it is better than coming up against a bulletproof vest! Don't expect Nyssa to be felling anyone on her own however, she can only deal 2 blood damage per turn with the bow, so someone else will have to start or finish the job. Nyssa is great for taking down a foe that is close to death (after yang has cut them mostly to ribbons)- or dealing an early 2 blood to take down someone's willpower, so they hit you a little less hard(night wing... For instance)
While Nyssa has a ranged superiority, she lost melee capacity. The only "boss" in the league that deals only 1 damage per impact - Nyssa doesn't "brawl". Her kukri can deal a bit of damage over time, but with ATT 3, it is a long time before she does real damage. Defensive is a great trait however, especially considering how many rooftops she will be standing on!
Speaking if rooftops- this is Nyssa's home- her base is even modeled with one! The first batclaw available to the league of shadows is a huge opportunity! Being able to grapple up, and push pesky foes from rooftops, or batclaw to blink free perches, or even close to an early objective claim. Just be sure not to run her too far away from friends, if she gets in trouble, she really will need help
When playing with Nyssa, try to keep these things in mind-
She is a dancer, not a fighter- she can start fights, or finish them, but not both.
Assign AT LEAST 1mc, 1sc for batclaw, or good aim, or dodging
Remember 2ac tends to be a good bet, you never know when you will have the chance to loose a useful arrow!
Any seasoned fighter can put her down in a solid swing, keep her out of harms reach until you really need her.
