Infinity - June New Releases!

The June new releases are finally out!  Let's take a look!

ALEPH - Scylla and Drakios
This new wonder-couple brings some interesting things to the Steel Phalanx.  There has been a heated debate on the Infinity forums as to exactly what those things are, but some excellent points have brought up that bear repeating.  First, Drakios brings three Heavy Flamethrowers to a sectorial that usually has trouble with ODD/TO.  Second, Scylla brings an amazing hacking net, since her two (!) Devabots both have Repeaters.

Both of these models are interesting in their own ways, but it remains to be seen where they fit into the existing Steel Phalanx paradigm.

Combined Army - Umbra Legate with Boarding Shotgun
I have to confess that I don't play Combined Army.  If I did, though, I would be all over this model.  Not only does it look incredible, but it's also the exact sculpt necessary to field the Hacking Device Plus loadout of the Umbra Legate.  For those who aren't aware, the Umbra Legate is not your traditional stand-back-and-mash-buttons style of hacker.  It's 6-2, comes with Martial Arts L4 and a CC score above 20, a DA CCW, Mimetism, Forward Deployment, and NWI.  Boarding Shotgun is there for extreme prejudice close-range kills that don't require base-to-base contact.  Wow.  Now just imagine that with Cybermask.

Haqqislam - Naffatun
Everyone's favourite pyromaniac Light Infantry are back and looking better than ever.  Some have said that they look a lot tougher than ARM 1 models, but it really just looks like they're wearing heavy flame-retardant equipment.  It's interesting that there are no clearly-sculpted grenades on them, as the light flamethrower loadout carries grenades, but I guess that was a sculping decision!

Nomads - Intruder HMG
The old Intruder HMG is a painfully dated model, so my guess is that CB thought it was time to round out the new Intruder sculpts with something more graceful.  This new Intruder is every bit as deadly as the old one, and competes with its MSR sibling for the prize of "most effective Nomad murderer at a distance".  The HMG itself looks a bit small for my tastes, but that's not going to be true for everyone.  Still, a very cool piece.

PanOceania - Croc Man with MULTI Sniper Rifle
In a long line of Croc Man sculpts that have been disparaged for their whacky poses, this guy has to be the nicest/simplest post there is.  Nothing sticks out over the edge of the base in a way that makes taking Cover difficult, and the details on the armour and face are quite impressive.  Also, there are some tight buns in there for those so inclined.  A nice, simple sculpt for PanO players.

Which one of this month's releases is your favourite?  Let us know!
