Simple Sunday - Batman Game terms
This is a quick reminder of terms, because they are SUPER CONFUSING in BMG-
A ROUND is everything that happens between the Raise the Plan Phases- where both players activate their models.
A TURN is ONE MODEL's activation during a turn. Something that lasts until the end of a TURN lasts until that model's activation is over. It is easy to think of it as "Gordon's TURN"
I know, it is confusing, but thats the way it is, and we need to move on.
Also- there seems to be some confusion on what things are on the table
COUNTERS- Are Non-Game pieces, on the table to mark things, but do not have an impact on the game. They may be seen, moved, and run through and stopped on top of. An example of a COUNTER would be IVY's seed COUNTERS
MARKERS- Are Items on the board, but without much influence. Markers CAN be other things as well (like obstacles or things) They may not be stopped on top of- but they be moved over. Markers include objectives, Lamps, and sewers.
MODELS- Are any characters in in the game. if you (or your opponent) spent REPUTATION POINTS on it, it is a model.
SCENOGRAPHY/Objects- Any items of "scenery" or "terrain". The rulebook defines Obstacles as 2cm or less (and can be walked over, and "difficult obstacles" as 2-5cm.
And what action is what?
MOVEMENT- During a character's activation all MOVEMENT must be done at the same time, without interruption. This is ANYTHING THAT MOVES THE MODEL, including climbing, Jumping, walking, running, Charging, Batclaw. the only things that serve as an exception to this rule are "teleports" like on ivy or swamp thing.
ATTACK- An "attack" is any number of STRIKES that are directed to a single model at a single time. Each attack is qualified and treated separately- so if a SPECIAL ATTACK is made, it only applies to that ATTACK (or target). A character can only ATTACK one time in their activation (so no ranged attacks and then melee)
STRIKE- A STRIKE is each "d6" that is rolled to attack a target. this is either the number of AC spent to attack in melee, or the ROF of a gun.
This list will be edited and expanded as needed, so check back every once in a while!
