Wishlist Wednesday - Batman Characters!

I know I've been going on and on about which henchmen I really want to see in BMG, but now that some of those henchies have been released, it's time to focus on some of the characters I'd love to see in mini form.  There are some serious untapped gold-mines for some characters who only, so far, have one iteration - but there are also some characters who have real potential to add to existing bands.

5) 60s Batman Catwoman (Julie Newmar)
I mean, we've got the Adam West version, so why not throw some 60s love to the Free Agents?  Catwoman only has one sculpt so far (Arkham City), and even though there are a lot of solid competitors for a new Selina Kyle (Animated Series, Year One, to name a few...), I think a throw-back to one of the earlier Catwomen might be a sweet compliment to the 60s line.  As it is, Adam West Batman stands alone (and really, given those eyebrows, it's no surprise...).

4) New 52 Harley Quinn
Because Harley Quinn has had enough of the Joker, and is striking out for herself.  This would be a great opportunity to create a model that's compatible with both the Suicide Squad and Ivy, without carrying the points-albatross of True Love: Joker around with her.  Now, I'm not suggesting she should have True Love: Ivy, but...

3) John Diggle
Arrow is, let's face it, a popular show.  Popular enough that an entire band was started for the title character.  While most of that band is populated with over-the-top superheroes (at least so far), there's been some serious clamouring for John Diggle, Green Arrow's less-costumed sidekick.  I think he could present both Arrow with a cool "mundane" option while providing the Cops with a "supercop" sidekick, which is something they currently lack.

2) Oracle
I honestly have no idea how Misty would make Oracle playable, but I'd be really eager to see her on the table.  I don't play the bat-family, but Oracle is just too awesome to pass up.  As a handicapped hero, she's been an inspiration to many (let's not talk about DC's attempted healing of her injury...) - and she's finally a female hero that isn't going to get stuck in the whole Acrobat category.

1) Azrael
This is the man who replaces Batman when his back is broken by Bane, and who later strikes out on his own as a fanatical hero fighting crime on the streets of Gotham.  Azrael is a potential multi-band Free Agent option, fighting for law bands (and maybe some of the more professional non-law bands?) as a serious bruiser.  Azrael is number one on the list because he doesn't have any representation in BMG yet, despite being a reasonably well-known character in the lore.  And hey, maybe the Arkham Knight has something to do with him...

Is there anyone I missed?  Who would you like to see added to the BMG roster in the upcoming months?

  1. Those are some solid picks. With a Suicide Squad movie in the works, think a new Harley is actually a pretty safe bet. Here's hoping Azrael is in Arkham Knight too.

    1. I certainly hope so, on both counts! I haven't seen much of the Suicide Squad movie Harley aesthetic, if there's anything out there...I'm still crossing my fingers for New 52!

  2. Extra points for using part of a VS card image in your article.

    1. Because the alternative was Knightfall Batman... ;) AKA another boring Batman...

    2. Look up 'Sword of Azreal' = ~original Azreal: brainwashed, borderline sociopath Templar executioner of flaming death

The white Azreal is Michael Lane: a watered down, nambypamby version with epheral swords of truth that make you feel guilty

    3. Fair. I just chose the updated image (because it's nicer-looking), the one that was in Arkham City.
