BMG Objectives - Titan

Here's another useful BMG objective link for you!  This time, it's all about the Titan!

The awesome Titan Container is one of four basic objective markers in BMG, along with Ammo, Loot, and Riddle.
Fortunately, Explosive Gel doesn't do this anymore...
Deployment - your Titan Container must be deployed in your opponent's deployment zone, unless the scenario states otherwise (Chance Encounter, Plunder, and possibly Securing the Area).  It's usually best to deploy it where a) you know you're headed, or b) where your opponent's guys already carry Titan doses.  I can't count the number of times my opponent drops a Titan Container close to that one Bane henchman I spent good Titan money on...

Interaction - any model in base contact with a Titan Container can spend 1mc to Manipulate it and pick up a Titan Dose.  You can only ever use one dose per game (unless you're a Titan Addict), but doing so increases all your basic skills by 1 - including Willpower.  Since this happens during the Raise the Plan phase, you have one extra action counter to allocate.  Very useful for defending your Titan Container objective or going after a target of choice.  And hey, the Titan Container is also a Small Obstacle, so you can either leap up on it to take advantage of boosted melee Defense (Elevated Positionor hide behind it for an extra blink (a 5+ chance to ignore gunfire)!

Scoring - at the end of every turn, you score 2 VP if you're controlling it.  That means you must have at least one friendly mini in base contact with the Titan Container, while simultaneously making sure that there are no opponents touching it.  Easier said that done, because of that Defense bonus and any Titan Doses your enemies might be on.  Do not forget that anyone can pick up Titan, even if you're the only one who can score it!
I can haz moar Titan plz??
Strategy - here comes the fun part.  As I've mentioned, Titan Containers give an extra blink roll or provide some extra melee Defense, so dislodging models camping them is harder than one might think.  Get to Titan as soon as you can!

Also, Titan provides 2 VP a turn, so don't double-back with any models hoping for kills.  If you park on a Titan Container early enough, you can collect an enormous pile of VP over the course of the game - the longer the game, the better the payout.  Don't forget that most KOs will only afford you 1-2 VP anyway, and those are one-time events.

It might be tempting to send a Blackgate Prisoner after your Titan, but consider throwing those guys elsewhere on the table.  You want a model that's capable of using its Titan Dose to keep your Container safe, or at the very least putting some hurt on the models your opponent sends after it.  A Strength 5 model with Attack 2 and Defense 2 really isn't your best friend for these kinds of things.

It takes a bit of predictive thinking to use your Titan Dose at the right time, but it's often better to use it when you're trying to dissuade an enemy attacker rather than picking a fight with one.  Remember: the Titan Container is worth 2 VP a turn, and any turn where your defender is hopped up on Titan and using the container as a defensive obstacle is a turn your opponent will hesitate to get near it.  That doesn't mean it won't happen, of course, but you have to use your judgement on that.

As an added benefit/detriment, Titan Containers are indeed Obstacles, so models cannot run through them without the Acrobat skill.  Sometimes this kind of thing is just what you need to keep your enemy from engaging on his terms, and setting up a trap to squish him on your own.
