KM has dropped their new releases- so it is time to have a look!
For Bat and League players- what a Merry Christmas!
First up is Batwoman- the Wealthy Orphan Vigilante!
A Nice, well thought out sculpt- giving variety to the "birds of prey" while staying well in theme- She looks like she would be nice to paint as well- solid lines- good pieces- only worry might be her face- but I would have to see it to really be sure- 9/10!
As for rules- Batwoman brings some of Batman's dominating powers for a very cheap price! Shock gauntlets, and Batarangs (originally only on AO batman)- are now on this tiny, fighty package. admittledly- the batarangs are a little less deadly- as she only has NIGHT VISION not TOTAL VISION- so no throwing aroud blind corners- but she will ignore blinks. Mk1 Bat armour keeps her in the fight- while detective and Searcher keep a solid lock down on enemy activities. Technique on a STR 4+ model is solid consistency, and batclaw is a solid standard (but no cape- so watch where you put her). Criminology, in a way, is sad to see- compromising a skill with so little use already is a bit of a shame, but at least she doesn't have arrest on her already. All in all- she is a solid niche filler (of heavy hitting batman but for discount price) - I expect to see her often)
NEXT UP IS NYSSA!
Excuse the frothing- SHE IS FANTASTIC- Really nice design, concept, and delivery. Personally- I LOVE the rooftop- a nice alternative to the "tactical rock" and a great way to make a beautiful dynamic model. 10/10 for me- I don't have to think twice about picking her up!
AND HOLY HOT DAMN IT GETS BETTER! A sidekick with a BOW! in the wake of the quiet THALIA release, I have realised how much I love pincushioning my enemies with the league- and nyssa does it best. Armed with the same bow as Seeker, Nyssa has Master Marksman, a critical ability when hunting anything above DEF 2. Also, the first Batclaw in the faction adds an enormous depth to the new tactical potential. Her "melee" ability is mostly just for escaping melee (Defensive is great here Especially on a DEF 4 model). ACROBAT, REFLEXES, and STEALTH means she is the greatest hunter of other ranged units- so WATCH OUT enemy gunmen!
RAS- Exceptional- really. The tactical rock is something CB has made
me a bit tired of..... but I am ok with that- he is really great- 10/10 we have talked about
the rules here
The rest is some new terrain and features- neat stuff!

I'm so glad Ras Al Ghul looks like himself finally and not some Scottish bloke. :) All in all, a strong month of releases w/o anything for me to be critical of... and that is saying something in itself.
ReplyDeleteBatwoman is perfect for Birds of Prey. She is the 100 point gap to get them into 300 point range. Plus, she has one mean streak and that is awesome.

ReplyDeleteThe SWAT van looks awesome. I wonder how much is paint job/decals/whatever. That's one of the most impressive terrain pieces I've seen because it is so often required yet no company has made a SWAT van.
