How to win a Bloodbath (part 1)

A question that people seem to come at OVER and OVER again on forums, blogs, and discussions

WHAT IS THE BEST?

"is this good?"
"does this kill things?"
"is this a good list?"
"what is a list that kills stuff?"
"what do you think about X"

Questions many veterans end up having to field constantly. There are a few easy answers;

What is best? Playing with the models you like and doing what you want, and enjoying a rich, wonderful game and world

When the new player rephrases and redefines the question, we get to their more "honest" question

"what do I have to do to put the bang bangs in the soft parts of my opponents' little men"

And that is what we are going to look at today- the army lists that do the most "killing"- in the most brutal uncompromising way possible.

NOTES-

This is not an article regarding "having fun", "being casual" or "making friends"- This is only concerning the shortest route to the most brutal death of your opponents' models. These suggestions may or may not result in those other things, I am just making it clear it is not relevant here.

This will mostly be regarding list construction, there are some tactical mentions about specific things, but for the most part, the tactics are in your hands.

Scenarios take specialists, and more nuanced care. We are just talking about the most brutal, one sided, killing machines. These lists will probably kill, but their chances of actually WINNING an ITS match, or other scenario, is a lot more unsure.

The important think about "alpha strike" is to hit first, and hit hardest- so these lists also greatly prefer to go first- with some work, it can still do quite well going second, but winning the initiative is really ideal for these lists firing on all cylinders.

THE HAMMER

Rambo, beercules, TAGstomp. One of the first
These singular troops, with the right support, and advantage to their abilities and capacities- can breeze through an enemy force

 THE LIST-

The Breakdown-
Obviously this list is an exploitation of a singular piece- The Marut.
With MSV, Multi-HMG, 6-4mov, Strategos, great BS and ARM, the Marut is the pinnacle of disposable power. The Cutter (TO TAG) and Achillies also make great examples of strong rambos, but they sometimes depend on forcing down the opponent's odds, rather than increasing their own- and when confronted by a TO, or ODD model themselves, they can have some challenges. The Marut does not. Realistically, the Marut is never shooting with a BS of less than 15. With 4 dice.

This kills the target.

THE SCALPEL

Al jebel shish kabab- Some of the worst of the worst. The dreaded IMPERSONATOR- But applied in the most brutal way possible.

This list focuses on removing and devastating the opponent's order pool, With the shish-kebeb, Drop troops and other tricks. The player's potential is maximized however with Saladin's Strategos- meaning that your opponent cant even counter-deploy against the Fiday/Djebel Reserve deploy.

 THE LIST-

The Breakdown
Priority- Determine your opponent's LT at deployment
Step 1- Use strategos to hold Djabel and Hunzakut in reserve- and then deploy them so they have easy access to your opponent's LT
Step 2- Use either Djabel, Ragik or Speculative shot with the hunzakut to kill opponent's LT (with impersonation, Viral CCW, and 11 orders- shouldent be too tough)
Step 3 (usually "????")- Walk Djabel into CC with another enemy model
Step 4- Profit. In LoL your opponent can only spend 2 orders, but 1 order MUST be spent on the active CC- leaving only 1 order to use- preventing the reelection of a new Lt. meaning your opponent will spend the NEXT turn in LoL as well.

at this point you are at your leisure to eliminate your enemy's forces- because you have effectively denied them from having an active turn.
